Free gigs by big name bands are not very common in these parts of the country, so demand for tickets was expected to be high. People were apparently queuing up from 6am for tickets. The support came from the 45’s who people may have heard of as Ruth, they were a perfect choice as they got the crowd going mental for the Dum Dums. This might have been ok, but for the large number of youngsters who were at the front - who had to keep an eye on people getting hurt. The Dum Dums came on and did a full set of 15 songs including a strange rap comprising of a bit of Pap Roach and the theme tune to 'Fresh Prince' (the BBC2 show with will smith)!

Half the crowd did not know what to expect with this but their fears were unjustified as soon as the guitars started kicking in. Now with the Dum Dums on top form and the crowd going absolutely wild for the whole set it was a wonder there was no serious injuries! This probably had something to do with the stage security being first class, if not a bit too over zealous at times pulling people out when they were actually ok
