Stuart Baxter's amazing drum sale!

Postby James » Tue Apr 26, 2005 2:19 pm

Stuart is in the process of spring cleaning his drum cupboard, in which he has amassed many drumkits and drum parts over the last ten years and would like to give you the chance to buy stuff before he puts the gear on general sale! If you are interested in buying any of the items below, please email info@dumdums.com for more info. Should you purchase any item(s), you will need to be able to collect from the central Birmingham area, as posting drums isn't very easy! All of the items below will be on sale here for one week only until 3RD MAY 2005 at which point they will be going on eBay. So if you want anything, make sure you email us before 3RD MAY!

1) Yamaha 9000 Recording Custom 20th Aniversary/Special Edition Drum Kit in limited edition Blue Fade colour.

Comprising of 22' kick, 10'' 12'' toms and 14'' 15" hanging toms. Includes tom stands and mounts, the kit is in mint condition and comes with unused 'hardcase' brand cases. (Snare available seperately, see below).

This kit was used during many early DumDums recording sessions!

£875 O.N.O.

2) Pearl 13" x 5" Omar Hakim Signiture Snare, virtually unused and in mint condition includes 'hardcase' brand snare drum case.

This snare was used as a 'backup' on Dum Dums tours (fortunately it wasn't used much!), also used in the 'Army Of Two' video. Comes with the 'smiley face' drum head as seen in AO2 video, artwork courtesy of Dum Dums crew member Nimar (AKA Nim Shady)!

£200 O.N.O.

3) Tama Iron Cobra Double bass drum pedal.

4) Also available:

A large selection of top of the range Zildjian & Sabian cymbals, and also assorted stands including hi-hat stand - if interested, please email info@dumdums.com

Yes, you can get decent enough starter kits for £300+ but the majority of Stu's stuff is top of the range because he's a pro drummer and therefore has pro kit and/or stuff from endorsers!

But even so, drums are more expensive them most instruments, especially cymbals!

Don't I know it!

18" Zildjan Power Crash = £250
16" Zildjan Fast Crash = £220
14" S/Hammered Zidjan Hi-Hats = £160
22" Paiste Low Ride = £280

Shell Kit (Bass, Hi-Tom, Lo-Tom, Floor-Tom, Snare and associated clamps)
Mapex Pro-M Series in Ice Blue = £680

Throne/Cymbals stands/Snare stand/Kick Pedal/Cow Bell/Sticks etc) = £250

Cases so they don't get damaged in my car = £100

Total cost = £1940

Then there's stuff like having to buy a bigger car to be able to carry them around in, then replacement sticks at £11 a pair, and skins at average £9 a time etc. And cymbals crack with annoying frequency!!!

I never saw it written down in total before!!

What kind of crazy sticks do you use?!
Gimme your Pile and gimme your tail.

I live in New York, and I was thinking about the lagoon in Central Park, down near Central Park South. I was wondering if it would be frozen over when I got home, and if it was, where did the ducks go. I was wondering where the ducks went when the lagoon got all icy and frozen over. I wondered if some guy came in a truck and took them away to a zoo or something. Or if they just flew away.

Vater Ltd Edition in Black with red hatch undercurrent.

When you hit the hi hat's and the little bits of black paint chip off, then they're red underneath.

Plus they're one of only two sets of sticks that don't absolutely knacker up my hands. Vic Firth wax tip 5BN are the others, and they're about £7 or £8 a pair.
