"After getting squashed to within an inch of my life we
were finally greeted by the Dum Dums, Josh in his "Zero" top,
Steve in (yet another) tight t-shirt and Stuart in a fetching
purple affair!!! "Killing me with Kindness" opened the set again
tonight, and the audience dutifully went bonkers!!! I managed
a quick look at the set list (the stage is very close to the
barrier at the Junction) and got all excited and squealy like
a child when I discovered they were planning on playing "Lonely
Hearts Company" which has to rate as one of my favourite Dum
Dums songs, although it did seem they couldn't decide on what
to play, as the set list said "Lonely Hearts OR Running Away".
We heard the new song "Burning all the photographs" again, and
the wonderful "It goes without saying" was once again included
in the set. Steve seemed to be having trouble with a pesky guitar
lead prompting Josh to do some great band introductions leaving
Steve to grapple with technology whilst scowling at Kumar and
Nimar!!!
"Fresh
Prince" was once again performed and Josh's hip-hop dancing
just gets better every night!!! It started getting very rough
at once point as Josh told the audience "please don't crowdsurf,
you'll squash the girls in front" - bless him!!!
Steve
ended up literally pulling Josh offstage after "Everything"
(he didn't want to leave the stage, even though his voice was
seriously about to give out!!), and Stuart took a huge flying
leap from his drumkit. After the show Steve came out to sign
autographs closely followed by Stuart and a very croaky Josh,
giving each and every fan time which is so damn admirable and
even continued out in the car park outside the venue when the
security guards threw us all out (damn Sunday night curfews!!).
Kumar began to get worried about Josh getting cold and presented
him with his jumper and jacket ensuing the Josh performed a
rare "reverse-strip-show" for us all!!! Once again, a stunning
show from a truly remarkable band."
