I
was helping clear the chairs away when this guy walked past
me, I recognised him so said hi, then it hit me - It was Josh!
Steve came in wearing a very 'matrix' jacket, and Stu was sporting
a lovely red hat! (it made him easy to find for autographs!)
I
stood talking to Steve for a little while and he said how they
don't like critics because the local free paper had labled them
as "Blink 182 but not".
People
started coming in and running straight to the front. I could
smell food! and discovered that Merchandise guy, Paul (AKA Pazza)
had some chips...and the kind guy gave them to me!(thanx!!)
The
Venue is a great one for gigs wherever you are you get a fantastic
view. I sat at the front of house mixing desk during the two
support acts - which I must say were very good. I had to dash
on stage to take the support bands stuff off before the guys
came on. That's when I had the bright idea of abusing my "access
all areas" pass! I sat myself on the floor at the middle of
the stage against the barrier (great photo oppotunitys!) The
music started, it was the opening chords to "Kind Of Day I've
Had", the guys ran on and grabed there guitars/drum sticks.
They bounced through "You Do Something To Me", and "Army Of
Two" which was one of the best songs of the night. The other
"best" song was "All Hooked Up On You" (and since the gig I
have not had one moment when I have not been singing it!)
They
also did a b-side which I had not heard before "Lucy's About
To Beach" and new song, "Photographs" - which I really liked!
I
thought the gig was amazing and prefer any gig if I am at the
front, but this gig was cool and it being a small venue it's
a lot more personal.
The
"Fresh Prince" rap was fantastic, they went off after "Can't
Get You Out Of My Thoughts" and wouldn't come back out till
the crowed were screaming their heads off! They finished the
gig with "Everything".
I
dove onto the stage, grabbed a set list for myself and started
stealing more for other people! Once the Dum Dums went out into
the crowd the stage area went quiet so we started to dismantal
and coil thousands of cables...
I
really enjoyed this gig, having the chance to meet all the tour
crew was cool. They are all nice people and they deserve as
much thanks as the band, because with out them "the show would
not go on!" Thanx!
The
security bloked started to get mad and chucked everyone out
so the Dum Dums went with them and hung around outside for a
while....Thanx guys!
